The Houston Chapter of LHAB played an annual event for the Houston Texas Exes. The Exes spring fund raiser is held at the River Oaks Country Club in March or April. It is a fun event with silent and live auctions and this year we enjoyed dinner with the Exes. We closed the event with the Eyes of Texas and Texas Fight.
We also played for a memorial service for Judge John Singleton. Judge Singleton was a UT graduate, a former Cowboy, and a Cheerleader during his years at Texas. He had asked his wife to see if we would play at his service after hearing us play at Louis M. Pearce’s service in January of 2013.
Our appearance at Judge Singleton’s memorial service resulted in an invitation to play at a meeting of the Forty Acres Society held at a private home. We played as the guests arrived and then led the group in the Eyes and Texas Fight.
We have received donations to our scholarship fund for all appearances.
We have been invited to play for a 50th birthday party on July 18th at the Magnolia Hotel. Still working on this one.
