Our Purpose
Why we still play
We advance the Longhorn Band, fund student scholarships, and keep former members connected to The University of Texas — for life.
What started in 1964 with 67 members is now a family of 4,000+ alumni across 12 countries. Hundreds of us return to Austin each Band Day — but the real work runs all year: providing support that keeps the Showband of the Southwest thriving.
Band Day Weekend
One weekend. Every generation. DKR.
Once a year we gather for a weekend of rehearsal, camaraderie, and the annual Business Meeting. On game day, LHAB and LHB perform their own halftime shows — then combine on the field for one unforgettable performance in DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium.
