Planning for Band Day 2026 is well underway, and we’re excited to share some updates as we count down to October 31st!

1. Registration Opens Next Month

Keep an eye on your inbox and our social media pages – Band Day registration launches next month! We’ll send full details on how to register and a link to FAQs as soon as it’s live.

2. Parking is Available NOW

You can purchase your Saturday parking today:

📍 Same lot as last year: LAZ Parking, 701 W 51st St. (51st & Guadalupe)

🚌 Shuttle service will be provided before Saturday’s rehearsal and after the game

🔗 Purchase your spot here ($10 for the day)

LHAB members who earned parking benefits by renewing their membership at the Wabash, Grandioso, or Big Bertha levels will receive separate instructions prior to Band Day Weekend.

3. The Friday Night Tailgate is Back!

Join us on October 30th for the 3rd annual Friday Night Tailgate. With good food and drinks and the chance to catch up with old friends, there’s no better way to kick off Band Day Weekend! RSVP during your Band Day registration.

We can’t wait to see y’all back on the Forty Acres this fall. Hook ‘em!

4. Know a recent grad? Help us grow LHAB!

If you know a recent LHB grad, reach out and invite them to join our LHAB family. Both LHAB membership dues and the Band Day registration fee are waived for new LHAB members joining in their first year out of LHB!

New alumni who join now will get all Band Day updates sent directly to their inboxes and, if they live in one of our areas in Texas with an Area Rep, they’ll be the first to find out about local playing events.

It is time once again to search for new talent to join the LHAB Leadership Team. The Nominating Committee has begun its work to find those in LHAB who would like to serve for the next year. We thank all of you who support LHAB through monetary donations to our scholarship efforts. Now, you have an opportunity to give back to the LHB family through your time and talents. This is the most valuable gift you can give LHAB and LHB.

Have you ever thought about stepping into a leadership role with the Longhorn Alumni Band? Now is the time. LHAB Leadership applications are officially open, and I want to personally invite you to learn more about serving as an Officer, an appointed assistant, or on one of our committees.

The LHAB Leadership team understands we serve in a volunteer capacity, and we genuinely value your personal and family time. Leadership at LHAB should add meaning to your life, not take away from the people and commitments that matter most to you. This is for anyone who wants to give back to the organization we all love.

Why now: We’re opening nominations and applications for the upcoming LHAB Leadership election right now. You can nominate yourself, or nominate someone else you think would be great in one of these roles. The deadline to apply is the end of August 2026.

We are looking for creative 2026 Band Day t-shirt ideas, as well as ideas for a membership perk shirt. Use this Google form to submit designs for one or both. Designs will be accepted until August 15, with winners revealed in September. Details and submission requirements are in the form.

The active members of the Alpha Tau chapter are looking to gauge interest in a KKY alumni luncheon on or around Band Day. Please fill out this short form (yes/no) to indicate your interest.
