We are thrilled to announce that this year’s Band Day will be all about honoring LHB’s legendary Director Emeritus Vincent R. DiNino. The unveiling of his new statue on Friday 9/12 will be the perfect start to our weekend-long celebration of his legacy.

☀️ New Band Day “Summer Uniform” for 2025
|
|
| As many of you know, Texas Athletics announced a 3:15pm kickoff time vs. UTEP on 9/13 for Band Day. Your leadership team has been hard at work coming up with plans to make sure our members stay as safe and comfortable as possible to help make it an enjoyable Band Day for all!
As part of this effort, a new “summer uniform” will be in place for Band Day 2025. This uniform was designed with comfort, tradition, and visual consistency in mind. LHB’s own summer uniform is consistent with this summer uniform, with a burnt orange polo vs vest.
2025 Band Day Uniform:
- LHAB vest (to be picked up on game day)
- White collared shirt or polo (worn tucked or untucked)
- Black bottoms: Black shorts (no gym shorts) or skorts of a tasteful, modest length, or black pants
- Black athletic shoes (mostly black but doesn’t have to be all black)
- White ankle or calf-high socks
- Optional white or burnt orange cap

📝 Reminder: 2025-2026 Leadership Nominations Due June 30th
|

| As we mentioned in last month’s Blast, the Nominating Committee has begun their work to find those in LHAB that would like to serve for the next year. We’ve received a number of nominations – thank you to those who have filled out the application! – but there are still some positions we need filled: |

| Consider this a nomination form for either yourself or someone else. Things to consider: |
|
- Your Time Commitment: We completely understand and relate to safeguarding any extra time you have outside of your career, family, just a day in the life! This is not a full-time commitment and everyone who serves does it because they want to give something back to LHAB. Contact anyone on the Current Leadership Team if you want to know more info about time commitment.
- Don’t Live In Austin? No Problem! The Leadership Team meets once a month for about 1.5 hours on Zoom.
- Review Descriptions of all LHAB Leadership Positions in the LHAB Handbook. Current leaders often don’t step away until someone takes their reins, so why not nominate yourself and lend a hand? Contact anyone on the Current Leadership Team for more info.
- Not sure about taking on one of the main listed leadership positions? Consider serving on one of the many committees. No application is necessary – just email your interest to Shirley Cumby, Nominating Committee Chair, at slittleton23. We will find a place for you. This is a great introduction to the workings of LHAB leadership and a good fit for recent graduates or those curious about how all the magic happens.

If you want to stay at the same membership level in 2025-2026 that you were at in 2024-2025 and your credit card info is up to date, no further action is required – your membership will be automatically renewed on July 1st. |
